Pinacoteca Agnelli, Torino

Posted on April 9, 2013

On a few days holiday in Torino for Easter, we visited the extraordinary Agnelli family gallery on top of the restored Fiat factory with the race track on the roof. The Renzo Piano designed refit of the factory and the stunning compact gallery balanced on top were sufficiently exciting in themselves. Then to see the permanent collection of Canaletto, Picasso, Mogdiliani, Balla, Matisse, Canova et al in such intimacy and calm was incredible. The temporary exhibit of furniture and architecture by Jean Prouve, including a demountable house perched outside the gallery was also really interesting. All in all, a  wonderful experience.
