IETM meeting in Dublin

Posted on April 12, 2013

I accompanied a delegation of 18 Australian (and one from New Zealand) artists, producers and presenters to the Spring AGM in Dublin for four days in April. The combination of funded delegates and those members making return visits as well as new explorers made for a great diversity of experiences. With a large participation of over 600 at the Dublin meeting, the agenda was packed and the many social events and networking platforms were extremely busy. I enjoyed some of the performances in the program, taking in All That Fall by Pan Pan, Fast Portraits by Liz Roche and Dublin’s Fare City presented by Dublin Fringe festival. The Australian delegates were very visible and reinforced their very strong links with Irish culture, through a pre meeting dinner and night at the pub as well as the usual late night meeting point shenanigans. I was pleased to participate in a meeting for International Theatre Agencies chaired by the Irish Theatre Institute and to have focused meetings with Culture Ireland, Pro Helvetia, British Council and Performing Arts Iceland.
