Melbourne International Arts Festival Launch

Posted on August 14, 2013

It was a buzzing event at the Myer Mural Hall that marked the launch of Josephine Ridge’s first Melbourne festival. After some performances from Tim Rogers and Paul Capsis as well as a protracted welcome to country to mark a three year indigenous project, the program was launched with plenty of champagne and good cheer. Whilst I will miss most of the festival due to being in Athens for the IETM meeting, I will definitely catch the visual arts program and some of the longer seasons, such as the indigenous King Lear at Malthouse, that stretch beyond the festival season.
