IETM Athens Meeting

Posted on October 22, 2013

I attended the Autumn IETM meeting with a delegation of 21 Australians. This was probably the best organised group so far, with almost everyone arriving several days in advance of the meeting’s start, in order to get over jet lag, orientate ourselves in the city and bond as friends and colleagues. We were a diverse bunch, with presenters, producers and a good number of artists and several delegates in our group were clocking up their fifth and sixth meetings, so were particularly helpful as connectors. The meeting was well run, with interesting performances in the evening, a great central meeting location (Technopolis) and a spirited and warm set of hosts in the independent Greek producers who welcomed us. I enjoyed several presentations, learning in particular that the new EU Culture Europe funding will indeed be open to non European countries. I also presented the Melbourne Asian Satellite meeting to be held in May next year and had a large number of meetings associated with this huge project.
